Hugo Ricardo Monteiro is a Post-doc Researcher at the Biotechnology Centre of Azores (CBA) of University of Azores. He has a degree in Marine Biology and Biotechnology (2009) and a MSc in Marine Resources Biotechnology (2011) from the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM) - Polytechnic of Leiria. He concluded his PhD in Biology (2019) granted by the University of Aveiro, working in collaboration with the Ghent University and Polytechnic of Leiria, with research focuses on aquatic toxicology, biochemical biomarkers and ecotoxicoproteomics. He was responsible for the management of the laboratories of the COVID-19 Diagnostic Centre of Polytechnic of Leiria from April 2020 until February 2022. He has published 6 articles in ISI journals, has 1 patent registered and received 2 awards. He is a certified SCUBA diver and is currently enrolled in a Postgraduate Programme in Scientific Diving, and has completed the following SSI specialty programs: Deep Diving, Enriched Air Nitrox Level 2 (40%), Navigation, Night Diving and Limited Visibility, React Right, Science Of Diving, and Stress & Rescue.
