Luísa Oliveira started her academic career at the University of the Azores in 1987, and obtained her PhD in Biology (Applied Entomology) in 1996. Her main interests are in plant protection: biological control of agricultural pests, mass rearing of parasitoids and field applications, integrated pest management programs. More recent, her research has been developed in the screening for natural products with insecticidal activities, particularly produced by native plants.
She is responsible for the practical classes of the disciplines of Biological Control and IPM of the 1st and 2nd cycle courses in Biology course.
