Microbiotec’25 will be hosted at University of Azores, between 4-6th December 2025

The Microbiotec congress has been held biannually since 2005, co-organized by the Portuguese Society of  Microbiology and the Portuguese Society of Biotechnology. The 2025 edition will take place from December 4th to 6th at the University of Azores campus in Ponta Delgada. The local organizing committee is headed by researchers Duarte Toubarro and Nelson Simões, from the Biotechnology Centre of Azores, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Azores..

This biannual congress aims to create an enthusiastic platform for discussion and collaboration between national and international researchers and stakeholders in diverse areas of Microbiology and Biotechnology, welcoming young researchers making their first steps into the scientific community. MICROBIOTEC’25 aims to promote knowledge and discussion among researchers, and between academia and industry. Is an opportunity to share and debate ideas and science during these three days focused on the innovations and challenges of microbiology and biotechnology research.
