The PacBioPest project aims to develop sustainable bioinsecticides using insecticide peptides from entomopathogenic nematodes encapsulated in extracellular vesicles produced by bacteria in bioreactors. This innovative approach aims to replace chemical pesticides by offering an environmentally friendly, efficient and safe solution for the control of agricultural pests, protecting the environment, biodiversity and human health.
This project is 85% funded by the Azores 2030 Program, through the ERDF – European Regional Development Fund, and 15% by the Autonomous Region of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Science, Innovation, and Development.
